August 29th: Sandhaven Harbour Fun Day best yet!
The crowds came out in their hundreds to see the best Harbour Fun Day yet, with visits from our friends from the Anne Buchan Dancers, Fraserburgh RBL Pipe Band, Tarlair Model Boat Club, Fraserburgh Sea Cadets, the Fraserburgh Lifeboat Crew and many more.
Although windy the weather proved kind and new events this year included a live link up with Kinnaird Radio, a Belly Dancer, mini therapy sessions, and a sponsored swim by James Masson.
We would like to express our thanks to all those involved in the planning and those who volunteer to help on the day, without them this event would not be possible
Over £2000 was raised and many people commented on how enjoyable the day was, several donations were made for which we would like to express our appreciation.

May 2004: Safe Haven...Sandhaven
The Trust is pleased to announce the success of their appeal for funding to fit new safety ladders at Sandhaven Harbour. Thanks to the contributions of Moray Firth Partnership (£1000), Awards for All (£1000) and Aberdeenshire Council (£2000) the ladders can now be bought and fitted.
Access to boats will also be easier once the new ladders are in place, allowing older and disabled boatowners the use of harbour.

Apr 2004: Trust gears up for the New Season
With the 2004 - 2005 boating season on the horizon, beginning in May, the Trust is sending out the new invoices to Trust licensed boats.
Information about berths at the harbour can be obtained from Harbour Master Edwin Masson on 01346 518767 or from the Trust Secretary Keith Gregory on 01346 511016
The annual fee for slipway use for jetskis and small vessels is only £30 per year and this allows unlimited use.
We are always happy to answer questions about berthing at Sandhaven so please contact us by phone or e-mail.

Apr 2004: “Bargains ahoy” at Trust indoor Car Boot Sale
The local Community Hall was the venue for the latest fundraising venture for the Trust and proved to be a morning of brisk business for many of the stall holders at the event. With just under £200 raised on the day and over £50 taken by Fiona Clark for her popular Tarot Readings the occasion proved to be a worthwhile few hours.
The Trust would like to thank all the stallholders, volunteers and customers who made the event such a great success.

Mar 2004: Portgordon Group visits Sandhaven Harbour
Recently we received a visit from the Portgordon Community Harbour Group who were looking for tips on funding and organisation for their own project of restoration at Portgordon Harbour. Despite the cold weather we enjoyed good company and the Trust hopes to return the visit in the near future.
Harbourmaster Edwin Masson showed the visitors around the harbour area accompanied by Jock Campbell, and Keith Gregory, directors of the Trust.
The visit comes at a time when the Trust is seeking more links with harbours within the North East in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation.

Feb 2004: Fraserburgh Sea Cadets rise to the top
At a recent meeting of the Harbour Trust, CPO “Dutch” Mulholland of the Fraserburgh Sea Cadets announced that the local unit had received a letter of commendation from the Commodore of the Sea Cadets Corps. This is a high award reserved for the best acheving and more efficient Sea Cadet units. CPO Mulholland expressed his grateful thanks to the Trust, and the people of Sandhaven & Pitullie for the opportunity to use Sandhaven Harbour for training purposes. “Without this facility” he said “We would not have been able to acheive such a high standard and we hope to continue the good work with your continued cooperation.”
The unit, which had been earmarked for closure some time ago, has also recently acheived the award of an efficiency pennant which demonstrates how exceptionally well the unit is performing and growing.
Sandhaven & Pitullie Harbour Trust would like to convey their hearty congratulations to the Fraserburgh Sea Cadets and are encouraged in their harbour restoration work as they see more members of our local community enjoying the benefits of Sandhaven Harbour.

Jan 2004: Wood Group fills a gap at Sandhaven Harbour
To help address the problems of neglect and erosion the Trust have launched a “Fill-a-Hole-in-the-Wall”appeal for £9000 to carry out urgent repair work on the Harbour walls. The Trust recently spent around £3000 on work below the waterline at the West pier.
Aberdeen based Wood Group Management Services, who have donated to the Trust before, have set the ball rolling with a £500 donation. We hope the generosity of this company will encourage others to support the project, and that the work can be speedily carried out.

Jan 2004: Sandhaven Harbour welcomes careful drivers
With safety first in mind the Trust have introduced a 10mph speed limit on the Harbour road, and have installed a number of speed bumps. These measures are intended to benefit all the community, especially after the near miss last year when a youngster narrowly avoided collision with a car. We would like to request that everyone drives responsibly in the Harbour area being especially mindful of children who may be playing there.
